Rita LaMoreaux

Rita LaMoreaux is here to help you with your small nonprofit or business.

With a history of helping others start their nonprofits, she knows what it takes to get a company up and running. She is still involved in one of her success stories, Insuring MI Future, the insurance industry’s nonprofit coalition to bring insurance education and career awareness to young people. Insuring MI Future fueled her passion to help young persons find their way to rewarding careers.

Rita recently was the Government Affairs and Young Agent Specialist for the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents. In that role she helped to coordinate MAIA legislative events and PAC fundraising. As the Young Agent Committee Liaison, she assisted new and younger members in planning and coordinating their education meetings and events. She also coordinated the annual convention trade show.

Prior to working at MAIA, Rita was the Office Manager of MIRS News, a political news service in Lansing. At MIRS, Rita was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the small office while maintaining customer support and legislative reports.

In past employment and volunteer roles with the Turner-Dodge House in Lansing, she worked with the Lansing Parks and Recreation Department to provide historical educational programs to the young people of Lansing.

Rita has an Associate’s Degree in Humanities from Lansing Community College, a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and a Master’s in Public Administration with a Nonprofit Concentration from Western Michigan University.
